FriendshipWorks (Formerly Match Up Interfaith Volunteers)

Offers 7 programs:

1. Friendly Visiting Program– help for elders with projects (i.e. shoe shopping, raking yard, etc.)
2. Medical Escort– help for elders with navigating hospitals and doctor’s offices
3. Pet Pals– provide pet therapy for elders
4. MusicWorks-he joy of music to elders in their buildings, offering them the opportunity to listen, to engage, and participate in (through musical instruments, singing, and dancing) musical group activities with a musician.
5. Relaxing Through the Arts-Friendly conversation, a few relaxing breaths and stretches set the tone for simple arts projects done together one-on-one or in a group setting.
6. Elder Low Vision Initiative-a special focus on supporting low vision and legally blind elders.
7. LGBT Elder Initiative– a group dedicated to ending social isolation among all older adults in Greater Boston, and we have a special focus on providing opportunities for social connection for LGBT seniors.
